Others think the true function of the university is to give access to knowledge for the own sake. What do you think are the main functions of a university?

　　這兩次考題都是關于學校教育的目的及大學職能問題.本考題可以采用平衡等分的結構布局,采用雙邊討論折中的方法來加以論證,討論雙方觀點之后再給出自己的觀點.下面就本題提供參考思路.

　　第一段:隨著大學畢業生就業壓力的增加,有人認為大學應該以學生將來的工作為導向,應根據就業教授學生實際知識和培養他們的實際技能,而有些人不同意這種看法,他們認為大學教育還有其他職能.我認為大學教育除了要教學生知識和實際知識和技能之外,還有其他的職能和目的.大學教育應該培養學生的綜合能力.

　　第二段:一方面大學教育應該教學生工作中需要實際知識和技能,這樣可以使學生在工作初期具備優勢,很快熟悉工作并進入工作狀態.

　　It is an indisputable fact that graduates who have received career education i.e. practical knowledge and skills can take a more dominant position in the early days of employment than those general education receivers.

　　第三段:有了實際知識和技能,學生也不一定就會有份好工作,好事業.全面發展的學生才能有更好的就業和發展前景.因此除了教授實際知識和技能外,大學教育還有其他的職能,培養學生的綜合能力.

　　A good command of practical knowledge and skills in the students field of study doesnt necessarily guarantee a better future career.

　　教授理論知識和其他方面有利于促進學生全面發展的知識比如藝術、文學、哲學等.

　　Statistics show that only one-third of the most successful enterprisers majored in business and commercial science. Many of them spent their precious college years learning art, literature and philosophy, subjects which are unrelated to their current career and identity.

　　大學的職能還包括培養學生的綜合能力.

　　Universities should aim at cultivating students overall abilities. Students with a healthy body, a healthy mentality, good communication skills, team-work spirit, creative, innovative ability or the ability for implementation can have a better future.
